Abu al-Hasan ibn Salih al-Audi, his mother was Hawsha bint Sheikh al-Zein, and his maternal grandmother was Zahra bint Idris bin Sheikh Abd al-Rahman bin Jabir, a fragrant flower. Among his accounts, he was Sheikh al-Islam, the jurist, the devout worshipper. He excelled in jurisprudence under his grandfather Ibrahim al-Hajr, studying under him and becoming like his teacher in research. He was unique in jurisprudence in his era, surpassing his peers. His student, Judge Abd al-Munim, informed me, saying: "Our Sheikh Abu al-Hasan used to read the lesson, both spoken and understood, with gestures, annotations, compilations, additions, and cross-references. He held the evidence in his hand because he had read the Quran up to "Do they ask about each other?" And God granted him complete acceptance among the elite and the common people. He was constantly reading Dalail al-Khayrat all day long, and he was granted complete acceptance when the Fatiha was recited with him in the mosque, and he would then study the passage in his seclusion. He was generous and bountiful, with hospitality, reception, and gifts. His student, the jurist Abd al-Dafi, informed me, saying: "He gave me a dowry." There was a dispute between him and the jurist Abd al-Rahman, son of Usayd. He presented his case with his brothers and allies, and a flood of people would come to them annually, bringing food like dates and raisins. Sheikh Abu al-Hasan would give them the dowry, the teacher's fee, and their clothing, and the clothing of their women. He passed away in the year thirty-three after one thousand and two hundred, and it is said that his death was when he said: "I have reached the age of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and I will not live after that."
Abu Bakr, son of Tubar, a student of Sheikh al-Zein. He completed one recitation of Mukhtasar Khalil under him and his Sheikh permitted him to teach. Many righteous scholars studied jurisprudence under him, and he issued fatwas and taught for a long time, by the blessing of his Sheikh. The well-known jurist Hamad al-Sayyid al-Am informed me that his Sheikh, Ibn Qutah, ruled in a case, and Sheikh Abu Bakr presented it to him. He invalidated it correctly, and Ibn Qutah was amazed and said: "I do not think that one who reads without a Sheikh can be a scholar." Sheikh Faraj, son of Taktak, said that Abu Bakr, the teacher, in the texts, gathers:
"Bikris Above the mounts of glory, he is sweet Until creation becomes consecrated."
And al-Muslimi, son of Abu Wunisa, his father was Ali al-Faqir, and Wunisa was his daughter. He combined knowledge and action. He studied jurisprudence under Sheikh Abd al-Rahman bin Jabir and was permitted to teach. He guided people, and his dwelling was the White Sea. He is one of the forty students of Abd al-Rahman bin Jabir who reached the degree of Qutb in knowledge, religion, and righteousness. Among them is this al-Muslimi, and Sheikh Yaqub bin al-Fayh, who is pious.
