This house, [referring to a verse] on the best and most beautiful, is attributed to my father, who said to Al-Mubarrad, "The scholars say, 'If a man is praised, he will be pleased and will bring forth a good deed.'" This is in the narration of Al-Mufaddal, and it is attributed to Tamim in the narration of others.
[The text then discusses a verse, possibly from a poem, and its attribution. It mentions "Afr" and "your father," and then quotes "Al-Ala'i: 'Indeed, he is the one who is with his people.'" It also mentions a verse by Dhu al-Rummah: "And for a long time, I have not remembered anything else."
The passage continues with a discussion of tribal alliances and conflicts, mentioning "Hanzalah," "Hijr," and "Kinanah." It describes a situation where Kinanah was allied with "Asad," and Hijr was killed. It also mentions "Kabi wa wa'a bin a" and "Sharaf bin Mam," and their followers, and "Kinanah" surrounding them. The text seems to be analyzing the meaning of certain phrases and their grammatical function, such as "badal min al-qawm" (substitute for the people) and "ashya'ahu" (his followers). It also mentions "Afr" again, and "jamian" (all).
