He told him his name until the image matched the image. He then proceeded to narrate to him all the details about them, having foretold them the day before the arrival of a student who had reached the time of victory. And victory is only from God. At night, Ibn Tumart kept the new student with him after all the other students had left. He housed him with him to reveal to him the hidden secret that fate had in store for him. In a moving scene, this young man, who aspired to nothing more than to purify himself with knowledge, wept. The faqih replied to him: "Your purification from your sins is the reform of the world at your hands. And the knowledge you seek to acquire from the East, you have found in the West." On this night, the fate of Abd al-Mu'min was decided: to remain with Ibn Tumart. He apologized to his uncle for traveling to the East, as he had already found what he was looking for. Perhaps on this night, Ibn Tumart also discussed with him his own intentions and what he planned to do. He agreed with his resolve and pledged allegiance to support him in hardship and prosperity. If we disregard these narratives that make the eternal secret the fundamental element in the meeting of Ibn Tumart and Abd al-Mu'min, we can confidently state that Ibn Tumart realized that his future endeavors required strong elements of men to help him accomplish them. After examination and testing, it became clear that Abd al-Mu'min was one of those suitable elements to assist and strengthen him. Ibn Athir alluded to this when he said: "He saw in him the intelligence and ambition that foretold his advancement and leadership." It is possible that he met his great companion Abd al-Mu'min in the village of Mallala, a young, handsome, and learned man. He was drawn to him and revealed his secret to him.
