In the last line, it refers to five systems that change and replace each other from one to five.

So, the century referred to is the twenty-first Gregorian or the fifteenth Hijri; it is the century of the new, the strange, and the tragic.

Nostradamus shows great mathematical skill, as the number mentioned in the quatrain is: 580 which, if added to the Hijri calendar, gives us the Gregorian calendar, and if subtracted from the Gregorian, gives us the Hijri, and the poet emphasizes that the result is not exact, but may increase or decrease.

(plus et moins) 1420 + 580 = 2000 // 1979 - 580 = 1399 (1400).

The poet, the mathematician, gave us the year 700 in the solar calendar as the beginning of the change of the five systems; if we subtract 580 from 700, we get 120 months: 700 - 580 = 120 We divide the number by 12: 120 / 12 = 10 years; we add the result to 2000 to get 2010, and on December 17th of it, the demonstrations began in Tunisia (11 Muharram 1432 AH), and about a month later, the former Tunisian president left his country (January 14, 2011); and the first version of the change was successful, and the other versions followed.
