This second pledge is not separated from the first pledge that preceded it by a short period; it is called the "Barha" in the aftermath of the year 1400 AH (1979 AD), and it is followed by the "Fah" in the aftermath of Ali (17).

In what follows, we will try, God Almighty willing, to clarify this short period that separates the two pledges; and we say, with God Almighty's help:

We said that the time of the Mahdi's pledge was accompanied by a harbinger of the impending downfall of the Arabs; and this downfall, which began after the first pledge in the year 1400 AH, corresponding to the year 1979 AD, is in reality a trial and a test from God Almighty for this nation until it is purified for what is to come of pledging allegiance to the Mahdi for jihad in the cause of God Almighty, until the Book of God Almighty is implemented again, and the conquest of Jerusalem and its subsequent battles are restored. Therefore, this downfall is a trial followed by relief accompanied by much good. And you will notice that God Almighty's practice in testing His servants is that this trial lasts for a period of forty (40) years; then this forty years varies according to the wisdom of each trial; it may be 40 days, or 40 years, or otherwise. And the evidence for this divine practice is abundant. We will suffice with only two examples, their names and their direct connection to our subject:

1. God Almighty's trial of the Children of Israel in the Sinai desert for a period of forty (40) years. God Almighty says in Surat Al-Ma'idah: "And when Moses said to his people, 'O my people, remember the favor of God upon you when He appointed among you prophets and appointed you kings and gave you what He had not given anyone else among the worlds.' O my people, enter the holy land which God has prescribed for you. And do not turn back, [thereby] becoming losers." (62). And during this period, their condition improved, and a new generation emerged from them, capable of carrying the trust; so God Almighty blessed them after these forty years with the conquest of Jerusalem.

2. God Almighty's trial of His servants by the Antichrist for a period of forty (40) years; and after this period, relief and good will come, and Jesus, peace be upon him, will descend and defeat him. It is narrated that the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, said: "There will be no trial on earth, from the creation of Adam until the Hour, greater than the trial of the Dajjal."
