Ahmad narrated in his Musnad, from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There will be two successions of caliphs, the first will be a succession after a succession, and the second will be a succession of kings."

The previous narration indicates that there was a pledge of allegiance that preceded the pledge of allegiance to the Mahdi and was similar to it, due to which the Haram al-Sharif was violated. This did not happen throughout the history of the Ummah of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, until the year 1400 AH, corresponding to 1979 AD. This was when a man from the household of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entered with a group led by Juhayman, numbering about 300 individuals. They pledged allegiance to this man between the Rukn and the Maqam. This necessitated the intervention of the Saudi government to fight them. The Haram al-Sharif was violated because of this incident, and what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us of occurred. Therefore, the year 1400 AH, corresponding to 1979 AD, is the year of the beginning of the destruction of the Arabs. The first signs of this destruction were the establishment of the Shiite Persian Iranian state and the descent of the Romans into the land of the Arabs with their full military might. Then, seditions, wars, and civil and sectarian strife followed in the land of the Arabs, until it settled into three major fronts as we see them today: the Levant, Yemen, and Iraq, in confirmation of his saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "The Hour will not be established until you fight the Romans in a great battle. The best of them will be in Jerusalem, and the best of their army will be in Iraq." (Narrated by Abu Dawud in his Sunan).

Therefore, the pledge of allegiance that preceded the pledge of allegiance to the Mahdi, and because of which the Haram al-Sharif was violated and destruction befell the Arabs, has indeed occurred. This means that the second pledge of allegiance, the pledge of allegiance to the Mahdi, which follows the first pledge, has been delayed, carrying with it the good news of the gradual end of the destruction of the Arabs.
