The decisive statement regarding the Imam Al-Mahdi affair.
It is permissible to reconcile readings of a single verse, as Ibn 'Azri narrated from him, saying: "If the recitation is difficult, then reconcile the readings." The reciters of the Quran reconcile the readings of the Quran, and people are amazed by this. How can one reconcile hadiths? The reciters do this during recitation. The Quran has its own readings, and people are amazed by the reconciliation of verses, such as: "And whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and His messengers and Gabriel and Michael - then indeed, Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers." and "And whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and His messengers and Gabriel and Michael - then indeed, Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers."
The first is like a false dawn that appears on the horizon before the true dawn. The Quran is a divine miracle, and it is not like the words of the disbelievers: "And those who disbelieve say, 'Why has not the Quran been sent down to him all at once?'" And it is from the response to them that Allah Almighty said: "And those who disbelieve say, 'Why has not the Quran been sent down to him all at once?' But We revealed it thus to strengthen your heart, and We have arranged it in a [good] arrangement." Ibn 'Ashur said: "The revelation of the Quran was gradual, and this gradual revelation is like the analogy of gradual measurement, because the gradual revelation of the Quran is easier to grasp."
The issue of the Mahdi's age, which was mentioned at the beginning of the narration: "The Mahdi lives for forty years, then he sleeps on his bed." The narration states: "It was narrated from Al-Layth that the Mahdi lives for forty years, then he sleeps on his bed. Then he emerges from the cave with two ears, and remains for twenty years, then he fights with the sword. Then he emerges from the house of the Prophet, and he is the Mahdi when the war comes, and he conquers Cairo. He is the last of the Ummah. Then he leaves the world, and descends from his time to Ibn Marwan, and Allah knows best."
