Rather, the Maladiyya were with the Hurula, so his father was greatly saddened by him, and he was distressed. Until he almost perished in sorrow, and his heart was filled with pain and grief. And God said, "People are destined for death, so imagine the chase. The swiftest among them is the horse." And death is a merchant, holding in his hand jewels, from which he chooses the finest. He disliked staying in Egypt because of his son, the apple of his eye, and this desire filled him. He returned to those distant lands. He wanted to return once more and be buried in the House of God, the Haram, and to be buried near the Prophet, peace be upon him. And indeed, he said: From Al-Kamil: "Move your heart wherever desire scatters me. Love is only for the first beloved." And he understood the meaning, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "If one of you is afflicted with a calamity, let him remember his calamity, for it is the greatest of calamities." From Al-Kamil: "Be patient with every calamity and be strong, and know that a person is not immortal. And if you are afflicted with the loss of one you love, remember your affliction with the Prophet Muhammad." So he went to the Hijaz and left me in Egypt to seek knowledge at Al-Azhar, and he provided expenses sufficient for four months. But it lasted longer than that, so it ran out, and I was distressed. At that time, I was in the prime of youth, so I remained bewildered, not knowing what to do. I was too proud to abandon the pursuit of knowledge and learn from anyone. 37
