A Brief Overview of the Journal

African Studies is a specialized journal concerned with African studies in various humanities, but it pays special attention to the realities of Islam and Muslims in non-Arab African countries. It works to encourage research on issues related to the following topics in particular: 1. Islamic education in Africa 2. The Arabic language in Africa 3. The spread of Islam in Africa 4. Islamic da'wah and the activities of Christian churches in Africa 5. The historical background of Muslim African societies and its impact on Muslim practices in Africa 6. Economic, social, and political relations between Africa and the rest of the Islamic world. 7. Introduction to scientific institutions working in the field of African studies. The journal is published twice a year. The primary language of the journal is Arabic, and it publishes some research written in English and French. Research is published after approval by specialized referees. Authors of research are awarded a prize in recognition of their efforts, and the author of a published research receives twenty copies of their article. The journal publishes reviews of recently published books in the world of African studies and reviews university theses, in addition to documentary works such as biographies. The author is expected to provide a brief introduction about their works and research, and to submit it, either briefly or without submitting it to any other party before the journal makes a decision regarding it. On the other hand, the editorial board works to issue a decision regarding the research within three months of its receipt. The journal is committed to returning unpublished research to its owners. The research published in the journal ranges between (3000-5000) words, and the research should be submitted in two printed copies. The printing should be clear and on one side of the page, with double spacing between lines. A margin of one and a quarter inches should be left on the right side and the same distance on the left side for research written in Latin script. Footnotes and sources should be printed on a separate page at the end of the research and referred to in the body of the research by sequential numbers in parentheses.
