This happened when my father became old and refused to lead prayers. He went to the land of Kounah when he left Hanni. May God have mercy on him and grant us His blessings in both worlds, Amen. On Tuesday, the second of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, the year 1034 AH, Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Ahmad al-Khalil passed away. His funeral was attended by the people of Hanni, and he was buried in the cemetery of Al-Layth, may God have mercy on him and be pleased with him, and reward him with good in both worlds, Amen. He appointed me as his deputy in prayer, but I refused due to the circumstances. On Tuesday, the third of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, the year 1034 AH, the scholar, the learned, the unique of his time, the jurist Ahmad Naya bin Idris bin Omar bin Ahmad, may God have mercy on him, was appointed in the aforementioned city with the agreement of all his companions, with the permission of the judge Ahmad Dab. He was a scholar of great merit at that time. He was buried next to his father. On Wednesday, the twelfth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, the year 1034 AH, Abu Bakr Saq bin Al-Qubbah, may God have mercy on him, and the commander Ghāsim bin Al-Qāsim, may God have mercy on him, were buried. At the end of the month, at the time of dawn on Friday, the sixth of the sacred month of Muharram, the year 1037 AH, Abu al-Ma'ali, the Sultan Mawlana Zaydan, passed away.
