May God have mercy on him and be pleased with him and raise his rank in the highest of heavens and return to us his blessings and the blessings of his knowledge in the two worlds, by His grace and generosity. Chapter Thirty-Five As for Al-Nasir Ali bin Mubarak Al-Masri, he did not remain in the governorship for more than three months, so he was deposed in the year forty-two and a thousand. He was then sent to Darfur, and he remained there until he died. They did not appoint him on the day they appointed him except for the sake of the Pasha, Ali bin Abdul Qadir, and his resulting opposition. On the day of his deposition, it happened that Ali bin Saud bin Ahmad Mahmoud Al-Sharqi was appointed Pasha on the second Tuesday of Rabi' al-Thani in the year forty-two and a thousand. He took the throne and sat for allegiance.
