Then al-Basha Ahmad bin Yusuf took command and entered the city of Jenné on Friday morning, the seventh of Dhu al-Hijjah of the aforementioned year. They revolted against him, and a group of them separated that day and went to the commander Ahmad bin Muhammad bin 'Umar at his house. When the news reached him, he gathered a force of soldiers and pursued them. They followed him with no intention of harming him.
