He then imposed a levy on the crops of the servants and the inhabitants of the villages, which he collected. He then hastened his departure, but then became afraid again and fled. The agreement was between him and the people of his town. They united against him and asked the owner of the mail carriers to depose him and appoint his brother Yusuf as their ruler. So, Musa Koro was appointed over them, and he collected all that had been levied on the deposed ruler, plus an increase. Then, a detachment was sent from there against some of the Fulani, who attacked them and captured some cows. We stayed there for ten days. On the evening of the fifteenth Thursday of the month, we departed, heading towards Tassakit.
