FOWEIRA. 53 . The people near Foweira, on the east of the Nile, are Longos, and they are a very curious and interesting race. They are yery brave and warlike, but are not on good terms with either the Waganda or Wanyoro. There are frequent quarrels between them and their neighbours, but they are such good LOXGO CHIEF.

soldiers that they keep their land free from invasion ; neither the Waganda nor Wanyoro gain much in their conflicts with them, and now Mtesa and Kabrega content themselves with cattle-stealing.
