God Almighty willed it. If He wills something, He says to it, "Be," and it is. This is the case with the creation of the heavens and the earth, and all that is in them. The Quran mentions this in several places, for example: "And His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, 'Be,' and it is." (Surah Ya-Sin, 36:82). This verse highlights the absolute power and will of God over all creation.
