Behind Amen-Rri are ten " turreted ovals," with human heads and busts above them, inscribed with the names of conquered lands and people, e.g., Ha-nebu, the abominable Kash, Ta-resu, Shaat, Sekhet-en-Am, the Menti of Asia, and the Anti of Ta-Kenset. These are roped together by the necks, and the rope is in the hand of the gfod.

The building operations carried out by Seti I. in Nubia were not very important. On a relief at Kalabsha the king is seen standing between Horus and Set, who are pouring water over him ; at Dakka and Kubban he repaired portions of the temples which had been built there by kings of the XVIIIth Dynasty; and at 'Amada he restored some portion of the temple of 629
