#### Preamble.

> A person may not claim any part of any public lands of the United States which have been appropriated by a private person or corporation, unless he or she is the successor in interest of the person or corporation that made the appropriation.

> SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its enactment.

> SEC. 3. Nothing in this Act shall be construed to affect any rights or claims which arose under the Act of March 3, 1891 (26 Stat. 1095), as amended.

> SEC. 4. If any provision of this Act, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of the Act and the application of such provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.
