APPENDIX V. 361 TABLE TV. VARIATIONS from the DAILY MEAN PRESSURE.

The following tahle is deduced from the observations made by Mr. Wilson and Mr. Felkin at Rubaga, and by the former at Makongo, 10 feet above the level of the Victoria Nyanza. For the sake of comparison we have added the results obtained by Dr. Emin at Lado, on the Upper Nile, and by Dr. Robb at Zanzibar.

On examining this table it will be found that if the barometer be read at 6 A.M., or about 9 o'clock in the evening, a very fair approach to the daily mean will be obtained. At 10 A.M., and again late in the night, the barometer stands highest, whilst at 4 or 5 in the afternoon it reaches its extreme minimum. The range on the shores of the lake is more considerable than either at Lado or Zanzibar, being almost identical with that observed at Calcutta, viz., 0'116 in.
