The year 1900 marked the beginning of a new era for the Sudan. The Mahdist regime had been overthrown, and the country was now under the joint rule of Britain and Egypt. This period, known as the Condominium, saw significant changes in the Sudan's administration, economy, and society. The British, in particular, played a dominant role in shaping the country's future, implementing policies aimed at modernizing the Sudan and integrating it into the global economy.
