Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. It gets what it earns, and it suffers what it incurs. Our Lord, do not hold us accountable if we forget or err. Our Lord, do not lay upon us a burden such as You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us beyond our capacity. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our protector, so grant us victory over the disbelieving people.

They ask you about the sacred month, about fighting in it. Say, "Fighting in it is a grave offense, but barring [others] from the way of Allah and disbelief in Him and [preventing access to] al-Masjid al-Haram and the expulsion of its people from it are greater [offenses] with Allah. And fitnah is greater than killing." And they will not cease fighting you until they turn you back from your religion if they are able. And whoever of you reverts from his religion [to disbelief] and dies as a disbeliever - those are the ones whose deeds will be worthless in this world and the Hereafter. And those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

Indeed, those who have believed and those who have emigrated and fought in the cause of Allah - those hope for the mercy of Allah. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and [many] benefits for people, but their sin is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess [beyond need]." Thus Allah makes clear to you His verses that you might give thought.

[They are concerned] in this world and the Hereafter. And they ask you about orphans. Say, "Improvement for them is good." And if you associate with them - they are your brothers. And Allah knows the corruptor from the producer. And if Allah had willed, He could have imposed hardship upon you. Indeed, Allah is Almighty and Wise.

And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even if she impresses you. And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even if he impresses you. Those [polytheists] invite [you] to the Fire, but Allah invites [you] to Paradise and to forgiveness, by His permission. And He makes clear His verses to the people that they might remember.

And they ask you about menstruation. Say, "It is harm, so keep away from women during menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure. And when they have purified themselves, then come to them as Allah has ordained you. Indeed, Allah loves those who are repentant and loves those who purify themselves."

Your wives are a tilth for you, so come to your tilth however you wish. And put forth [good deeds] for yourselves. And fear Allah and know that you will meet Him. And give good tidings to the believers.

And do not make Allah an obstacle to your oaths that you will do good and fear Allah and make reconciliation among people. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

Allah will not impose blame upon you for what is in your oaths by mistake, but He will impose blame upon you for what your hearts have earned. And Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.

For those who swear an oath to abstain from their wives, there is a waiting period of four months. So if they return [to reconciliation], then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

But if they intend [to effect] divorce, then indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

And divorced women remain in waiting for three periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands are more entitled to take them back during that [period] if they intend reconciliation. And they [women] have rights similar to what they owe [them] by suitable custom, but the men have a degree over them. And Allah is Almighty and Wise.

Divorce is [granted] twice. Then [either] retention with kindness or release with kindness. And it is not lawful for you to take back [any] of what you gave them unless both fear that they will not uphold the limits of Allah. If you [both] fear that they will not uphold the limits of Allah, then there is no blame upon either of them regarding that by which she is redeemed. These are the limits of Allah, so do not transgress them. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah - it is those who are the wrongdoers.

And if he has divorced her [the third time], then she is not lawful to him afterward until she marries a husband other than him. If the [new] husband divorces her [or dies], there is no blame upon the [former] husband and his [former] wife to return to each other if they think that they will uphold the limits of Allah. And these are the limits of Allah, which He makes clear to a people who know.

And when you divorce women and they have reached their prescribed term, then do not prevent them from remarrying their [former] husbands if they agree among themselves in a suitable manner. That is instructed to whoever among you believes in Allah and the Last Day. That is purer for you and cleaner. And Allah knows, and you know not.

And mothers may nurse their children for two complete years, for whoever desires to complete the nursing. But on the father is the provision and clothing of the mothers in accordance with what is reasonable. No person shall be burdened beyond his capacity. No mother shall be harmed because of her child, nor father because of his child. And upon the heir is similar to that. And if they both desire weaning by mutual consent and consultation, there is no blame upon them. And if you wish to hire a nursing mother for your children, there is no blame upon you as long as you transfer what you have given them by suitable custom. And fear Allah and know that Allah is, of what you do, a Seer.

These are the limits of Allah, and whoever transgresses the limits of Allah has wronged himself. And do not transgress. Indeed, Allah is with the righteous.

Do you dispute with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? And we have our deeds, and you have your deeds. And to Him, we are sincere.

Indeed, Abraham was a nation, devoutly obedient to Allah, by nature, and he was not of the polytheists.

Grateful for His favors. He chose him and guided him to a straight path.

And We gave him in this world [what is] good, and indeed, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.

Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], "Follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists."

The Sabbath was only appointed for those who differed over it. And indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.

And if you punish [an enemy, O Muslims], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient.

And be patient, and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress due to what they conspire.

Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.
