The Sultan of Darfur, Ali Dinar, was a formidable ruler. He was known for his strong will and his ability to unite the tribes of the region. His reign was marked by a period of relative peace and prosperity, but also by his fierce resistance to foreign encroachment. He fought bravely against the Anglo-Egyptian invasion of Sudan, and his defiance became a symbol of Sudanese independence.
