A series of official handbooks to the different provinces of the Sudan is in course of publication . At present two only have appeared, those for the Bahr el-Ghazal ( 1911 ) and Kordofan ( 1912 ) . Both are of the highest possible value for every branch of investi gation - historical,geographical, and ethnographical .

The series of " Annual Reports on the Finance, Administra tion , and Condition of the Sudan ” is of indispensable use and indisputable authority .
