Large quantities of cotton fabrics pass through El Obeid to Darfur.

Com. Corn.—Dokhn is the sole food of nine-tenths of the people, and they build their huts of its stalks.

It grows during the hherif on sandy ridges, and requires little water. It takes four months from planting to harvesting.
