Cairo.—The disposal works and sewage farm were completed at the end of 1914. Since then a gradual scheme has been worked out extending the system of sewerage to the various quarters of the city. All the public buildings and a very large number of private houses have now been connected. The c6nnections are being pushed on as rapidly as the supply of material will admit.

Port Said.—The disposal works and sewage farm were completed in 1917. The connections of all public buildings and a good many private houses are finished, but lately it is reported that there has been a falling off in the demands for connection. A drainage law making connection compulsory is badly needed at Port Said.
