At first glance, it appears that the subsidy paid by the Egyptian Government will be £E 300,000 in the current year. However, in reality, it is reduced by £E 300,000 in the budget under the item of interest on loans. This is the most important item in the budget.

It is recorded on the expenditure side as £E 450,000, paid by the Sudan Government as interest at a rate of 3% on £E 15,000,000, which the Egyptian Government lent until the end of the year. This is a new and reassuring development in the budget. This amount, when deducted from the subsidy, reduces the net subsidy paid by the Egyptian Government to £E 150,000.

The sources of revenue in Sudan are the same as in the previous year, instead of £E 1,000,000.

The Sudan is thus relieved of this burden from the Egyptian budget.
