I ask for his guidance from the Mahdi, and I ask it from you as well, for you are his successor. And he said to him, the Companion and Amir of the Mahdi, referred to in the prophecy, Qasim al-Ta'aishi.

For this reason, he said, my forgiveness will only be a source of the Mahdi's forgiveness. So the Companion replied, "I have forgiven him." He ordered him to be brought in, the dust removed from his head, and released from prison.

Then he pledged allegiance to him, the well-known pledge, and al-Ta'aishi vowed that he would not leave the Mahdi's camp until he died. We will return to mention what happened to him after the Mahdi's death, when al-Ta'aishi killed him, and issued a fatwa against his entire tribe and confiscated all their property. And permanence belongs to God.

The appointment of Hussein Pasha as a preacher by the Mahdi in the Ababda tribe.

Hussein Pasha, the Khalifa, the Governor of Berber, has been mentioned before, and how the whip of the Mahdi was in his hand. And now it is said that Hussein Pasha, the aforementioned, left Berber after its fall and went to the Mahdi in Kordofan. The Mahdi received him with honor and treated him as a friend, not as a prisoner, until Khartoum fell. From that day on, he was flattering Abd Allah al-Ta'aishi and showing him loyalty, and offering him his ability to preach the Mahdist call among the Ababda tribe, who live around Aswan.

He wrote to him, as well as the emirate over the Ababda tribe. He set out in Sha'ban of the year 600 from Omdurman in mid-Sha'ban until he reached a place near Abu Jamed.

A letter arrived from Abd Allah al-Ta'aishi calling him back to Omdurman.
