- 10 -As for Turkey's recognition, this recognition is of no value whatsoever, for the following reasons: First: The declaration of protectorate over Egypt removed Turkish sovereignty from it, starting from December 1914 AD. It is considered non-existent at the time of the cession. The Turkish government recognized Egypt's full independence and gave it the freedom to determine its political destiny. This decision was ratified by the Chamber of Deputies before the signing of the Treaty of Sèvres. Second: The Treaty of Sèvres, in which Turkey recognized the British protectorate over Egypt, was signed by representatives of the Turkish government, Ferid Pasha. Furthermore, the Ottoman people strongly opposed it. Despite this, it did not receive ratification from the Chamber of Deputies and was not recognized by some countries.
