The number of cases in the provincial courts decreased due to the abolition of these courts in the provinces after the establishment of mixed courts in the Egyptian territory in February 1913. All civil cases have now been transferred to the district courts and mixed courts. The number of cases in the mixed courts increased significantly due to the increase in the number of these courts, which rose to 235 from 36. It can be seen from the preceding tables that the average share of each of these courts in cases is about 1070 cases. The number of outstanding cases increased, except in the district courts, where the task of completing work increased, resulting in a satisfactory outcome. (2) Criminal Courts The statistics of crimes for 1913 are included in this report in the section related to the Ministry of the Interior. The total number of misdemeanors decreased for the first time in several years, to 13938 and 4367. This decrease, though small, is a cause for satisfaction. However, upon completion of the review, it is clear that the difference is mainly due to a decrease in cases related to land disputes and border disturbances in the country.
