After the dismissal of Commander Mam bin Ali al-Turki on the tenth of Rabi' al-Thani in the year 1116 AH, and after twenty days had passed, he was dismissed on the last day. Muhammad bin Ali bin Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Turki, known as Mam bin Ali, took over after Commander Suna' bin Faris on the twenty-second of Shawwal, or it was said in the month of Dhu al-Qi'dah at the end of the year 1115 AH. During his reign, the sea flooded the mines, and plague and famine struck the land. His time was called "Qasi" and his reign lasted about four months. Then he was dismissed on the twentieth of Safar at the beginning of the year 1116 AH. Then he was reinstated as deputy after the dismissal of Pasha Said Buzian in the early days of Rajab al-Fard in the year 1117 AH. During this period, in the light of his rule, on the twenty-seventh of the aforementioned month, Askia Abd al-Rahman bin Karman Qari Umar was appointed Sultan of Timbuktu after three years of strife between them since the death of Askia Muhammad bin al-Hajj Ka'man, until the month of his death, eighteen days of which had passed, during which death occurred. Peace also occurred. From the time he took over, Tank Bakr returned to the position of Karman Qari Umar, and each person in charge took their position. During that period, the Pasha moved with his caravan to Timbuktu, which is called Ajaliyah Timbuktu. Then he was dismissed after his return from his raid in the month of Dhu al-Hijjah al-Haram at the end of the year 1118 AH. He remained for a year and six months. At that time, during his reign, the Tuareg killed Tamask bin his nephew, al-Kahhi bin al-Hajj bin Commander Hamad bin Ali. Then he was reinstated as deputy after the dismissal of Commander Mas'ud bin Mansur in the month of Dhu al-Hijjah.
