**The Royal Court** **Royal Order** **In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful** **We, King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud** **King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia** **Recognizing the importance of developing education in our homeland, and our desire to elevate the level of university education,** **And recognizing the role of universities in building generations capable of serving their religion and their homeland,** **And after reviewing the applicable regulations and bylaws,** **We have ordered the following:** **First: The establishment of King Khalid University in the Southern Region.** **Second: The university shall have an independent legal personality and a general budget, with its headquarters in the city of Abha.** **Third: The University Council shall, in accordance with regulations and bylaws, manage the university and its affairs.** **Fourth: The Prime Minister shall, in consultation with the University Council, issue the necessary regulations and bylaws to organize the university's work.** **Fifth: This order shall take effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.** **Issued on: 14 / 11 / 1397 AH** **Corresponding to: 25 / 10 / 1977 AD** **Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud** **King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia**
