and Nuqawus, Lubna, Fustintina, Tubajis, Baghayah, Tiqash, Dar Madin, Balmand, Dar Mulul, and Milah. The majority of the lands we have mentioned were inhabited by the Berbers. The land of the Berbers was Palestine, and their king was Jalut, son of Zardas, son of Jannah. Jannah was the father of Zanatah of the Maghreb. Jannah was the son of Lu'ay, son of Bar, son of Qays, son of Ilyas, son of Misr. When David killed Jalut the Berber, the Berbers migrated to the Maghreb until they reached the furthest parts of the Maghreb. There they dispersed and settled. Marah, Mughilah, and Dirisah settled in the mountains. Luwatah settled in the land of Barqah. A group of Hawarah settled in the mountains of Na'usah. Others settled in the furthest Maghreb, and with them settled the tribes of Mahmudah. They populated those lands. The Berber tribes are Zanatah, Dirisah, Mughilah, Muqaddar, Banu Abd Rabbih, Wartajum, Nighrah, Nighrawah, Mutamilah, Lamnah, Sanhajah, Iwarah, Kutamah, Luwatah, Mazanah, Hadratuh, Basalsan, Madayunah, Rabujah, Madasah, Falimah, Awribah, Dhulaliyyah, Labattah, Banu Manhus, Banu Samatijun, Banu Warfilan, Banu Yasdran, Banu Zarji, Wardasa, Zar'un, and all other Berber tribes whom we will mention in the accounts of their lands, God willing. As for the lands of the furthest Nul and Tazkaghut, they are the lands of Lamtunah of the desert. Lamtunah is a tribe from Sanhajah. Sanhajah and Lamtah are brothers from one father and one mother. Their father is Lamt, son of Zara', from the children of Himyar. Their mother is Tazkanah, the lame. Her father is Zanati. Hawarah is also a brother to Sanhaj and Lamt from a mother and father. His father is Al-Musawwar, son of Al-Muntami, son of Kila', son of Ayman, son of Sa'id, son of Himyar. He was called Hawarah because of a word they pronounce, called Hawarah.
