Introduction Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, Muhammad bin Abdullah, may God bless him and grant him peace, and upon his family and companions, and those who followed his path until the Day of Judgment. To proceed: This is a study of Islam and Arabism in Sudan, which we place before our dear readers who follow the movement of the spread of Islamic influence in the inhabited parts of the earth, so that they may understand the factors that contributed to this spread and the obstacles that arose and stood as a formidable barrier in the way of that Arab-Islamic current reaching its distant dimensions. This study of Sudan also focuses on the period when the Turkish governor Muhammad Ali conquered Sudan in 1820 AD. At that time, Islamic sultanates were playing their political role in governing Sudan. This study has been divided into seven chapters: In the first chapter, I discussed the passages of Islam into Sudan, speaking about the Suez Isthmus, the Sinai Peninsula, the Red Sea, and the Bab al-Mandeb, and the role of Egypt as a starting point to the south, as well as the Arab Maghreb, from which Arab tribes originated. In the second chapter, I discussed Arab migrations to Sudan, studying the movement of Arab migration to these regions before Islam, how the conquest of Egypt became a starting point for the intensification of Arab migration, and then how the stage of Arab settlement in Egypt among the Arab tribes opened the door wide for these Arab migrations. , 11
