The Sudan.

The duties levied on goods coming from outside Egyptian territory, but if those goods are coming to Sudan via Suakin or any other port on the Red Sea coast, the duties shall be collected by the collector, in addition to the duty currently levied on similar goods imported into Egyptian territory from abroad, and duties shall be levied on goods exported from Sudan according to what the Khedive may determine from time to time by decrees issued in this regard.

Article 8: Except for the city of Suakin, no authority shall be exercised in any part of Sudan, nor shall any action be taken in any way.

Article 9: All of Sudan, except for the city of Suakin, shall be subject to the attached regulations, and also to any contrary provisions that may be issued by the Khedive.

Article 10: Consuls, vice-consuls, or consular officials shall not be permitted to reside in Sudan, nor shall any other foreign officials be permitted to reside there, except with the express permission of the British Government.

Article 11: The introduction of slaves into Sudan or their export from it is absolutely prohibited. A decree shall be issued regarding the necessary measures to be taken for the implementation of this matter.

Article 12: An agreement has been reached between the two governments on the necessity of both of them undertaking to implement the Brussels Convention concluded on [date missing] concerning the introduction of firearms, ammunition, and distilled spirits, and their use.
