And he issued it.
The next day, he went out with a manifesto, which is the one we mentioned when talking about the fall of (Bara). We have already pointed out what happened with this manifesto, and that he issued it to convince the people of Bara of their rights. Opinions differed regarding this manifesto. Some said that this manifesto was issued by the Mahdi to convince the people of Bara, and others said that he issued it on this occasion. In any case, the Mahdi went out to his people the next day with this manifesto and recited it to them so that they would stop blaming and attributing injustice to the Mahdi, and that this manifesto was a substitute for what they had agreed upon in secret for this action.
Here is a copy of the manifesto, taken from the first volume of the book of manifestos. From the servant, the humble to God, Muhammad al-Mahdi bin Abdullah, as a notification from him to all his servants, the believers, in the East and West. To proceed: Know, O beloved ones, that the Caliph Abdullah, the Caliph of the Truthful, is adorned with the necklaces of truth and sincerity. He is the Caliph of Caliphs and the commander of the army of the Mahdi, referred to in the Prophetic Presence. That is Sayyid Abdullah bin Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Allah, may He grant him well-being in both worlds. Know, O my beloved, that the Caliph Abdullah is from me and I am from him. The Master of Existence, may God's prayers and peace be upon him, has indicated him. So, be respectful towards him as you are respectful towards me and submit to him outwardly and inwardly, as you submit to me, and believe in his word and do not doubt his word. He does what he does by the command of the Prophet, may God's prayers and peace be upon him, or with our permission. He is not acting on his own initiative, nor is he acting out of caprice, but rather he is obligated to carry out his command, may God's prayers and peace be upon him. Sudan 60D 00091
