46 Jihad, by its obligation and its magnitude, O you who are the martyrs of God on His earth. Today you are one, united in care and broad in scope. Your policy in planning is sound, and your foundations are firm. Your opinions are good, and your intentions are civil, for the present and the general. You have gathered what was scattered, and you have endured hardship when it befell you. You have rejected outdated customs and opened the blocked paths. So it is incumbent upon those who are with you to learn from you what you have preserved of noble character, and unique virtues, and the best of foreign crafts. May God preserve what you have, and increase what He has bestowed upon you, and make your deeds worthy in His sight. We have informed you of the enemy's approach and their aggression against us. We sought God's guidance and His help, and we have considered and understood the matter. We have opened the hidden and the revealed, and the specific intentions in God, which are realized in dealings with kindness and swiftness. For the one who initiates such matters is honored, not wronged, and it is a sign of the coming of victory, and God knows best. So we ordered the launching of raids on his lands, from those who went west to Randa, and we ordered the western army, and Malqa and Randa, to confront the city of Bargha, the one who exhausted the physician and weakened the distant frontier, and its surroundings.
