Do not be arrogant, for arrogance is the greatest of your flaws. Do not be boastful. And in the end, do not be proud of your lineage. Do not be a follower, but rather ask. Let your heart guide you. Do not be a dancer for the rich or a jester. Do not be a leader, for leadership brings many pains. Do not be too soft, lest you be squeezed, nor too hard, lest you be broken. Do not speak of the absent as if they were present. Do not reach for what is beyond your grasp. Do not look at who said it, but rather at what was said. Do not seek what you do not know. Do not postpone today's work until tomorrow. There is no argument in taste. There is no strength in a house without a strong wall. God does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. There is no protection or harm except by His will. There is no smoke without fire, nor ink without a source. There is no rest in this world, nor peace among creation. There is no opinion for one who is not obeyed. There is no sword like truth, nor helper like honesty. May the dishonored not live, nor the homeless find a home. There is no perfume for a virgin bride.
