- 62 -My father and mother's life. He said to him, "If the head is found, I will inform him." He found it severed, bloody, and so was his hand. As for the spear, the severe cold struck it. He died on the road. The houses were struck, and the family slaughtered a fat cow. For any need, the wife of Sheikh Jameel, whoever ate its meat died, about sixty slaves and people. Everyone started driving their cattle. When the spear entered Sennar, it was for this reason that Badi brought them a message. Among them was the entry. He said, "Leave the Sheikh to fulfill his needs." Then Sheikh Ahmed, son of Al-Tariki, ordered the people to bring them the sermons in the shields and said to them, "If you enter upon me, the Sheikh's anger will strike you." His poet said: "Shoot the stick and shoot the light of Abu Ahayra. The Qurs tribe is searching. Does this good fortune hover?" "Shoot his blood and shoot the slave Sa'eed. O you who hold your father's hand, he did it himself." "Never will he see the light of Al-Bureida. O Salim, if you have a trial, we have returned." "Your belly, from eating forbidden things, we have begun. He is determined not to drink the foulness."
And another said about him: "Abd al-Malik searches, chasing the falcons. He chases my father's people, the yellow ones of the desolate land, the pruned ones." "A camel drove them from one side to another, poisoned. He slept for Jahina and the sleep of Khartoum." "From Sennar, the son of Al-Tamm emerged. He comes to you for the slaves and the people weep." "My father is in the hand of the beautiful one who holds the window. The roof of the Eid and the stick fell, may God protect you."
Sheikh Hamad said to the leaders, "Tell the son of Oudeh, 'I have split myself for the Muslims and squeezed myself for God's secret.'" "I have gathered the people of the beer and the grave robbers. If I split myself again for the Muslims, God's secret, I will break your head." And he, may God be pleased with him, had a saying: "God gave me, God gave me." "He made me renounce the world and its vanities. My love for my brothers became a flood. The storms became my companions." And Sheikh Idris, the Sultan of the Saints, used to say, "If the Day of Judgment were in my time, I would not be judged. I am a living Lord, who sees things with the eye of reason." And Sheikh Idris said, "My Lord taught me to say, 'I saw with my eyes.'" And Sheikh Idris said, "My knowledge is in what the eye sees, which is more eloquent than what the ear hears." And he used to say, "O son, after me, one will pass who will do nothing to the family, because the secrets have been seized and hung on the leg of the Throne, except for the prayer of the oppressed, for it is not rejected." And the tears of the dying said to the people, "The world, its poverty and its ruler, cannot be admired. Do not be dazzled by it. Do not take the sultanate from it for love, do not sacrifice your home for it." Some of the madmen said in their hearts, "The Sheikh is weak."
