Among his prophecies was his advice to Sheikh Ajib regarding the war with the Funj. He said to Sheikh al-Funj, "You have changed our customs." Sheikh Ajib replied, "Do not fight them, for they will kill you and rule your descendants after you until the Day of Resurrection." The matter was as he mentioned. Among his prophecies was his advice to King Badi Abu Rabatt when he came with King Adlan bin Ayah seeking to fight Sheikh Ajib. Badi, the aforementioned, was the son of Sheikh Idris. He said, "If you kill Sheikh Ajib, you will be victorious, and you will return to Sennar as king, and the kingship will be in your descendants after you." The matter was as he said. Five of them ruled: Rabatt, Badi and his son, Awans bin Nasser, Badi and his son, and Awans his grandson. Their reign lasted one hundred and ten years. Among his prophecies was his report that the reign of the Funj would end, and the reason for its end was that they would divide into two factions and fight each other, each group killing the other until their kingdom was lost. Some of this has happened, and some is expected to happen. He was born in the year 913 and died in the year 1060, at the age of 147 years. From the day of his death until the date of our current year, which is 1333, it has been 273 years. God knows best. Abu Idris is Sheikh Muhammad bin Sheikh Dafa Allah bin Muqbil Dafa Allah al-Arki, the fragrant one. Among his reports is that he was a scholar, pious, ascetic, devoted, and followed the path of the early masters. His mother's name was Hadiyah bint Atif. They were all born in Al-Jami'ab and grew up in Abyad Dirri. His mosque is in Al-Hajar al-Mudawwar, now known as the Mosque of Abu Idris. He memorized the Quran from his father, Sheikh Dafa Allah, and studied jurisprudence under his brother, Sheikh Abdullah. He followed the path of the Sufis under him, and he guided him, permitted him to travel, and to train disciples. He found in the handwriting of Sheikh Abdullah al-Arki that he said, "When I saw my brother, the seeker, Muhammad bin Dafa Allah, known as Abu Idris, worthy of this great and noble blessing, I made him repeat the word of Tawhid and granted him an absolute license to recite the Names, the Sword Haze, and other mentioned supplications."
