The second section, on the cause of the beginning of his affair, said Sheikh Saleh: Hamad Al-Sharif, owner of Badawi and a reciter, told me, his sons said: Sheikh Badawi said to me, "O Sharif, shall I tell you the reason for my beginning?" My uncle, Sheikh Abu Duleiq, died, so I gathered the poor and we built a dome over him. After it was finished, I entered it for forty days of seclusion. In those days, Sheikh Idris died, and I was in seclusion. I heard a caller say to me, "There is a trust with Sheikh Idris, take your trust from him," and it was repeated to me several times. So I traveled with my poor to the grave of Sheikh Idris. We stopped at noon with Sheikh Hassan. Sheikh Idris came to me and said, "Hurry, come, Hamad, our son, is traveling to Sennar with the Mazaalim and the Maraqeeb before he sets off." So we hurried and reached Sheikh Hassan for the appointment. He said, "Less than my provisions, your hospitality is on the fire." I said, "May we be permitted?" He said, "Yes, by God, may we be permitted." We agreed and traveled. We found Sheikh's son, Hamad, preparing for travel. As soon as he saw me, he descended and said to me, "The Sheikh's son, your father Sheikh Arid, has come. He thinks we are traveling with him." I said, "Visitors." So I washed my clothes and bathed and entered the dome. As I was sitting, I was overcome by sleep, and I saw the dome filled with saints, none of whom I recognized except four: Sheikh Abdul Qadir, Sheikh Idris, Sheikh Hassan, and Sheikh Abdul Razzaq. Sheikh Al-Zein attended, and they said to him, "Who brought you?" He said, "I am his teacher in knowledge." They sat me on a golden chair and dressed me in a bracelet, and brought me a whip of 'Anj. Sheikh Abdul Qadir said to Sheikh Idris, "Give him your fire." Sheikh Idris handed me a stick with smoke on its head and said to Hassouna's son, "Give him your sword and your lance." He handed me a sword with a golden hilt and said to him, "Give him a sword of your power." He gave me a golden sword and said to the group, "Accept him." They said, "We have accepted him." I came to myself and heard the talk in the dome. Then I traveled, and Hassouna's son brought the fire. They died before him. After his death, I hesitated about the fire, whether to light it in the afternoon or to throw it into the sea. They lit it in a strange place. I saw the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, and he said to me, "Reside in the red land with the red people." The red land is Qal'at Al-Najaf, and the red people are the Battahin. So I built a seclusion in front of it, a rakuba, and there a man from the Maraqeeb killed the son of Sheikh Naim Al-Battahani, and the man fell upon me. I brought him into the seclusion and sat in the rakuba. They entered upon him and killed him and said to me, "Sheikh Naim stipulates the 'ibran, and you have made a pact with him." They fired shots into the seclusion. I said, "These people will not live with me." So I saw the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, a second time, and I was sitting facing him, and a lot of ants from the four directions were coming towards him. I said, "My master, O Messenger of God, peace be upon you, what is this ant?" He said, "It is your pact. Stay in your place, no one will bring them. We, O Sharif, in this place, eat our sustenance."
