As-Sufyani: He is from the descendants of Yazid bin Mu'awiyah bin Abu Sufyan, who is Sakhr bin Harb bin Umayyah Al-Umawi. His name is mentioned in narrations as: 'Akamaf bin 'Anbasah, 'Anbasah bin Hind, and Harb bin 'Anbasah. ('Anbasah is one of the names of a lion and is used to describe fierce men. Historically, it is known that the 'Anabis of Quraysh are the sons of Umayyah bin Abd Shams. Al-Abr are six: Harb, Abu Harb, Sufyan, Abu Sufyan, Amr, and Abu Amr. They are called the lions, and the rest are called Al-A'yas. As for the meaning of 'Akamaf, it is a snake's hatchling and a deformed bone enlarged due to a deformed illness. As for the meaning of Harb, in the hadith of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (peace be upon him), it is said: "Send against them a man, a warrior, knowledgeable in war." From the name, we deduce that he is fierce and knowledgeable in military sciences, meaning he is an officer in the army, security, or intelligence, or a military trainer. He is also referred to as the son of the mother of the warriors, Hind bint Utbah. Therefore, the name might be 'Akamaf bin Utbah and not 'Anbasah due to the similarity of the names when written by hand. Hind bint Utbah had a son with Abu Sufyan named Utbah. If he had a son named 'Akamaf, then his name would be 'Akamaf bin Utbah bin the mother of the warriors, and his wife would be Ramlah bint Yazid bin Mu'awiyah! (From the book "Nasab Quraysh" / Mus'ab Al-Zubayri / p. 45). Thus, this is the lineage of As-Sufyani by name.

From the tribe of Qudha'ah: The tribes of Qudha'ah resided in Al-Anbar, Al-Ardaf, and southern Syria. The Alawite clans also belong to them, and they belong to Bani Kalb/Al-Kalbiyyah. His maternal uncles (in another narration: As-Sufyani is their sister's son) are from the tribe of Kalb, who preach from the pulpits of Sham (i.e., rulers of Sham before the appearance of As-Sufyani). Kalb descended from Qudha'ah and allied with Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan. Mu'awiyah consolidated his rule with their men and married the daughter of their leader, who bore him Yazid bin Mu'awiyah (History repeats itself, glory be to Allah)!
