A note. Yekla is a village in Yemen, from Qifa, Rad'a. It is said that the Qahtani is from it, and he is the brother of the Mahdi in his religion. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: "The Mahdi will emerge from a village in Yemen called Kara'a, and on his head will be a turban (a cloud) with a caller in it, calling out: 'Behold, this is the Mahdi, so follow him.' He will lead his men from Sana'a and Aden." And from what was attributed to Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him: "The Mahdi will lead his men from Sana'a and Aden." A tyrannical ruler will send an army in his pursuit, so he will flee the city and hide until the time before his emergence. Then he will emerge from one of the villages of Jurash, which is one of the districts of Yemen, near Abha, in the direction of Mecca. He will emerge amidst much bloodshed (killing) and head to Mecca in disguise, following the example of Moses, son of Imran, fearful and watchful. According to Imam Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Al-Hasan Al-Naqqash Al-Muqri: "He will emerge from a village in Jurash with thirty men, and the believers will learn of his emergence and come to him from all lands, yearning for him as a she-camel yearns for her young. He will disappear in some of the valleys of Mecca in Dhu Tuwa. The people will bring him out of a house in Mecca, (near) or (to) Al-Safa, and they will pledge allegiance to him between the Corner and the Station. He will retreat with some of his companions to the mountains of Taif. There is disagreement about his coming from the East with the black banners from Khurasan. Will he be present in Khurasan, or will they come to him, paving the way for him without his presence there, and deliver their victory and triumph to him? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: 'People will emerge from the East and pave the way for the Mahdi.' After God causes the army heading towards him to be swallowed by the earth in the desert, he will make the city his capital. He will go out with the elite of the people of Hijaz from the city to Sham on the day of the Great Battle. After liberating Al-Aqsa from the hands of the Jews, he will migrate to Jerusalem, reside there, and make it the capital of the Caliphate. And they will come to him."
