A Note
And after his emergence, the signs of the Hour and its establishment.
Ibn Kathir said in his interpretation of the Almighty's saying: (So when the promise of the Hereafter comes, [We will send] your enemies to disgrace your faces) He said, meaning:
(They will have disgrace in this world) This disgrace in this world was interpreted by Al-Suddi, Ikrimah, and Wa'il bin Dawud as the emergence of the Mahdi.
The Mahdi in the Prophetic Sunnah Below is a brief account of the most important authentic hadiths on this matter, and I say, with God's help:
1. From Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Mahdi is from me; his forehead is wide, his nose is aquiline. He will fill the earth with equity and justice, just as it was filled with oppression and tyranny, and he will rule for seven years."
2. From Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Mahdi will emerge in the latter part of my Ummah. Allah will send him rain, the earth will bring forth its produce, wealth will be distributed in abundance, cattle will increase, and the Ummah will grow. He will live for seven or eight years." Meaning: years.
3. And from him, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I give you glad tidings of the Mahdi. He will be sent at a time of disagreement among people and earthquakes. He will fill the earth with equity and justice, just as it was filled with tyranny and oppression. The inhabitants of the heavens and the inhabitants of the earth will be pleased with him. He will distribute wealth in abundance." A man said to him: What does "in abundance" mean? He said: "Equally among people." And Allah will fill the hearts of the Ummah of Muhammad, peace be upon him.
