A Note He returns to them as a successful young man, and it is one of the greatest afflictions that their companion comes out to them as a young man, while they consider him an old man. He is the renewed Imam who was not touched by seditions, nor did he touch them. And from Abu Ma'bad, from Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, he said: "I hope that days and nights will not pass until God sends forth from us, the people of the House, a young, nascent man, untouched by seditions, nor did he touch them, who will set aright the affairs of this nation, just as God opened this matter with us. So I hope that God will conclude it with us."

"May God set him right in a night."

He is the Mahdi whom God will set right in a night or two, and he will be guided to a hidden matter. The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: "The Mahdi is from us, the people of the House; God will set him right in a night." And in another narration: "in two days." Perhaps the intended meaning is that God will set him right for the caliphate, meaning He will prepare him for it, grant him success, inspire him, and guide him, after he was not so. And perhaps the meaning is: meaning his affair will be set right in one recurring night of its kind. This is permissible, for when the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, was asked about fasting on Monday, he said: "That is the day I was born, and I was sent on it, and the revelation was sent down to me on it, and I migrated on it, and I will die on it." So he named recurring, similar days of one kind as a single day. It is also permissible that the Mahdi's righteousness is in a recurring night of its kind, of this sort.

God will teach him knowledge and not entrust him to himself. And from Abu Ja'far al-Baqir, may God be pleased with him, he said: "This matter will befall the youngest of us in age, and the most beautiful in mention, and God will inherit him knowledge and not entrust him to himself."

And he will not need anyone, and people will need him.

From Al-Harith bin Al-Mughirah Al-Nadhri, he said: I said to Abu Abdullah Al-Hussein bin Ali, may God be pleased with them both: "By what?"
