It does not touch the ground except when it is a "zamāʿ" (a type of gait or movement), and if it is independent, that is faster.
The horse's hooves are not bent, and I recited: "Kāfirz, they are accustomed to the zamāʿ with a greeting. Al-Bāgh, Kāf."
Meaning, it treads on the open ground, the place of the "miqaʿah" (a type of gait) and the "miṭraqah" (a type of gait), according to what is separated.
The "zamāʿ" is a thousand places with its "alf" (thousand), meaning with the thousand hooves, a greeting. And the "zamāʿ" here is like olives.
It is behind the hooves, and the horse does not have a "zamāʿ", but rather the "zamāʿ" is for its hooves. But he meant "taftil" (a type of gait) followed by it, which is poetry. And "mashjab" is a stick that supports the garment. It does not have a long leg like an ostrich's leg. And "ṣahwah" is the saddle, or the place above the saddle.
"Al-abṭal" is the flank, and "al-ṣahwah" is the back. And it is narrated, "ṣahwah ʿayr ṣākim," and "al-ṣākim" is the saddle.
And if it is standing, it is better for it. And "al-ʿayr" is the tail, and there is no better place on the animal than this.
It must be like a wild donkey. And he said "qālam" because when it stands, it stretches, and when it runs, it becomes agitated.
And "al-marqaf" is the place that is raised from the ground.
And it steps on hard, solid ground like the stones of "ghayl" and "wārsāt" with its hooves.
"Al-ghayl" is water that flows on the surface of the earth. And Al-Qannabī said, "Al-wārsāt" are the dark ones, and "al-wārsāt" are the yellowish ones. And the stones turn yellow when salt covers them.
And "al-ṭaḥlab" is what is on the water from the "ḥaḍarah" (a type of plant). He wants it to step on hard, yellowish hooves.
It is like the "wārs" plant, which is called "al-nadd" when it turns yellow. He means by "wārsāt" ... and the land, in its hardness, has stones. And the stones...
And Al-Qannabī said, "The hooves are yellow." He only meant that the stone is yellow.
... like "al-daʿṣ" and "al-masmār" (a type of nail).
And "al-ʿajz" is the hindquarters, and "al-daʿṣ" is the small, firm part. And "al-raml" is the soft ground.
