He said, "O my son, what are you doing?" He replied, "I am going to the river." "Why are you going to the river?" "I am going to wash my clothes." "O my son, do not go to the river, for I fear that the river will drown you." "O my father, do not fear, for I am a strong swimmer." "O my son, I do not fear for myself, but for you." "O my father, I will be careful." "O my son, I will go with you." "No, O my father, I will go alone." "O my son, if you insist, then go, but be careful." "O my father, I will be careful." He went to the river and began to wash his clothes. He was washing his clothes when he heard a voice calling him. He looked up and saw a man standing on the bank of the river. "O man, what do you want?" he asked. "I want to ask you a question," the man replied. "What is your question?" "What is the meaning of life?" "The meaning of life is to love God and to love your neighbor." "Thank you," the man said. "You are welcome," he replied. He continued to wash his clothes, and the man went away. He finished washing his clothes and went home. He told his father what had happened, and his father said, "I told you so."
