The people of the Nile, how did they escape the wrath of the Mahdi?!

The Mahdi, may God have mercy on him, was a man of great ambition and strong will. He was known for his piety and his unwavering faith. He believed that he was chosen by God to lead the Sudanese people to freedom and independence.

The Mahdi's followers were a diverse group, including many tribes from the north and west of Sudan. They were united by their devotion to the Mahdi and their desire to overthrow the Egyptian and British rule.

The Mahdi's army was a formidable force, and they achieved many victories against the Anglo-Egyptian forces. The Mahdi himself was a charismatic leader, and he inspired his followers to fight bravely.

The Mahdi's reign was short-lived, however. He died in 1885, and his movement soon collapsed. However, his legacy lived on, and he is still remembered as a national hero in Sudan.
