They were among the first to arrive in the region of Bahr al-Ghazal.
"What do you want?" asked the man.
"We want to see the Sultan," replied the messenger.
"The Sultan is not here," said the man. "He is in the capital."
"When will he return?" asked the messenger.
"He will return in a few days," said the man.
"We will wait for him," said the messenger.
The man led the messengers to a house and gave them food and drink.
The next day, the messengers went to the capital to see the Sultan.
They found him in his palace, surrounded by his guards.
"We have come to see you, Sultan," said the messenger.
"What do you want?" asked the Sultan.
"We have come to ask for your help," said the messenger. "Our people are starving."
The Sultan listened to the messenger and then said, "I will help you. I will send you food and supplies."
The messengers thanked the Sultan and returned to their people.
The Sultan's help saved the people of Bahr al-Ghazal from starvation.
